The current state of the American economy is not good. The housing market and credit problems have spread and even the retail sector is now feeling the pain. We are said to be entering a recessionary period. However, JoS A. Bank Clothiers, an operator of 415 mens dress clothing stores located in 42 states, is one of a select few retailers that seems un-phased by this economic downturn. They reported a twenty seven percent increase in earnings for third quarter 2007.

The store also says that it still plans to go ahead with its extensive expansion plans. They are planning on having at least six hundred stores by the end of 2012. While major markets such as Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles are pinpointed, JoS says that it will also focus on growing more in warm weather states like California, Arizona, and Texas.
