Popular Mens Clothing in 1930's

Mens Clothing in 1930's
Mens clothing in the 1930's was changing during a time of economic crisis. After the Wall Street Crash of October 24, 1929, many people were out of work or money. Few people had any money left to spend clothes on fashion. Since many businesses had difficulty staying afloat, this meant that clothing was quite affordable.

Mens clothing in 1930's started out with trying to elongate the torso. This included a double breasted suit, shoulder pads and tapered sleeves. There were also vertical stripes incorporated to the designs of many suits. Plaids were made fashionable at this time. When the economy picked up a little again, the so called "Londan drape" or "drape-cut" became extremely popular.
