The gothic look was made popular in the 1990s by bands like Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson. These bands have seemed to persevere and many are still around today. The gothic trend does not seem to be quite as popular as it once was, but is definitely still going on. People who deemed themselves Goths, were usually thought to be outside the mainstream of society, so it is ironic that the best place to get gothic clothing is at the most mainstream of all places.
